HostsPlus security consultants have access to Commerical Off the Shelf software available to other security consultants in most other organizations. However one thing that sets our consultant services apart is propietary software developed by our staff to assist us in performing security audits. The following tools are available to our inhouse staff now and may be released to the public at some point in the future:

NetProxy
NetProxy is a utility that enables our consultants to perform man in the middle attacks against any service. Utilities such as Paros and WebScarab only allow testers to perform man in the middle attacks against web applications. NetProxy allows our consultants to not only perform man in the middle attacks against web servers, but any client server type of application implemented over the TCP or UDP protocols. This includes client/server applications that stream data.

dbX
dbX is a utility that enables our consultants to perform assessments of Database Servers. This utility can be employed to mine data from database servers that have been compromised, check the database server for optimal security settings, ensure that sensitive data is encrypted, perform brute force login attacks, scan for database servers, exploit common vulnerabilities, etc. There is also an SQL Injection plugin that will attempt to enumerate data from an injection point in a client/server or web application. The following Database Servers are currently supported:

 + Sybase
 + DB2
 + MySQL
